What does AAHA Accreditation mean to you?

You have certainly seen the AAHA logo included many places on our website and on our client handouts and brochures.  What exactly does this accreditation mean to you?

AAHA Accredited, The Standard of Veterinary Excellence

AAHA Accredited, The Standard of Veterinary Excellence

First of all, it means you can rest assured that the Belle Mead Animal Hospital follows the highest standards of veterinary care and practice in the industry. Here is some background information about the association:

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) was established in 1933 by leaders in the veterinary profession.  It is the only companion animal exclusive veterinary association.

The Association develops industry benchmarks, business practice standards (known as the Standards of Accreditation), and informative publications and educational programs designed to help companion animal hospitals thrive.

The purpose of the American Animal Hospital Association is to:

* Enhance the abilities of veterinarians to provide quality medical care to companion animals
* Enable veterinarians to successfully conduct their practices and maintain their facilities with high standards of excellence
* Meet the public’s needs as they relate to the delivery of small animal veterinary medicine

Today, the AAHA is respected internationally for its dedication to professional development, hospital accreditation standards, and quality educational programs.

The Belle Mead Animal Hospital is proud to be accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This distinction is achieved by fewer than 15 percent of the animal hospitals throughout the United States.

We believe in the principles of professionalism, high standards of veterinary care, and excellence established by the AAHA. We work very hard to maintain our accreditation with this organization.

Every three years the Belle Mead Animal Hospital is subject to a comprehensive evaluation and inspection by the AAHA. This evaluation includes our record keeping, diagnostic capabilities, surgical and anesthetic procedures, facilities, quality of medicine practiced, pharmacy, emergency services, dentistry, nursing care, housekeeping, and the continuing education of our medical staff.

With the AAHA accreditation behind us, you can feel confident that your pet will be treated with the highest level of care possible.

Please feel free to give us a call if you have any further questions or would like to arrange a tour of our hospital.
