September 2014 – Pet Health Insurance update
The North American Pet Health Insurance Association (NAPHIA) has designated September as Pet Health Insurance month. There’s no better time to secure pet insurance than when your pet is young in preparation for unforeseen kitten or puppy emergencies and age-related illnesses as your pets reach their golden years.
Many regard their cats and dogs as family members. In a medical crisis, you want to be able to make the decision that provides the best care for your pet, not the decision you can afford if there was no pet health insurance policy in place to help defer the cost. Pet insurance can give you the peace of mind knowing that your pet can receive the best care possible when emergency strikes and decisions must be made quickly.
NAPHIA has released the “Top 10 Claims List” as part of their State of the Industry Benchmarking Report. The annual survey and report monitors key pet insurance benchmarks that demonstrate the growth of the sector in North America and its continued success.
NAPHIA President Dennis Rushovich had this to say in NAPHIA’s September 2014 news report:
“It’s important to remember that treatments and claims come in all sizes, just like our pets. For those who believe their cat or dog will never be affected by a serious health condition or accident, think again. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that every pet will have at least one major illness in its lifetime.”
With pet health insurance, responsible pet owners know they’re prepared. Visit our Recommended Reading list below for more details on what our own clients have experienced in the past and read the full “Top 10 Claims List” as published by NAPHIA. You may be surprised at the findings.
